We live in a time when distrust of government is at an all-time high. I continue to push for Newburgh to become a leader when it comes to creating a culture of transparency and trust.

Using technology and the internet is an obvious way to create more transparency. For example, the procurement and bidding processes should be made available online. We should also pursue more transparency online by promptly posting the town’s board and commission meeting times and minutes, and in my time on the Council we have made great progress in posting the names and terms of board and commission members. The town can also explore ways to utilize social media to engage residents and prospective residents online in more meaningful ways.
